The 91社区福利 Marine Lab focuses on solving the problems facing not only marine environments, but also the people and communities who depend on them.

Its scholars are some of the most respected experts in their fields, and are sought by local, tribal and federal governments as well as the United Nations for impartial scientific advice on the climate crisis, global ocean governance, fisheries management, coastal resilience, and marine species conservation.

The Marine Lab鈥檚 location on the southern Outer Banks of North Carolina allows it to act as Duke鈥檚 鈥渨indow to the sea,鈥 providing information on the rich environmental mosaic of coastal habitats where land meets the water.

While the Marine Lab supports research, teaching, and visitors from around the world, its older facilities are in need of upgrades. In addition, establishing a named new endowment for the Marine Lab director position is critical to our continued leadership in marine science and conservation.
