DURHAM, N.C. – Elizabeth A. Albright, assistant professor of the practice of environmental science and policy methods at 91’s Nicholas School of the Environment, has received the 2015 Sabatier Award for Best Conference Paper in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy from the American Political Science Association (APSA).

Albright received the award with her co-lead author, Deserai Anderson Crow of the University of Colorado’s Center for Science and Technology Policy, for their paper “Learning Processes, Public and Stakeholder Engagement: Analyzing Responses to Colorado’s Extreme Flood Events of 2013.”

They presented the winning paper at the 2014 APSA annual meeting last August in Washington, D.C.

In selecting them for the Sabatier Award, which carries a monetary prize, the APSA award committee cited Albright and Crow for the solid theoretical contributions in their paper as well as in their substantiation through data.

Albright and Crow will receive their award in a ceremony at the APSA’s 2015 annual meeting in September.
