DURHAM, N.C. – The Wells Fargo Environmental Solutions for Communities program has awarded 91ÉçÇø¸£Àû’s Nicholas School of the Environment a $25,000 grant to support a new initiative aimed at leveraging leadership capacity at historically black colleges and universities to address environmental injustice and build green infrastructure.

Deborah Rigling Gallagher, executive director of the Duke Environmental Leadership Program and associate professor of the practice of resource and environmental policy, will lead the new initiative.

The Nicholas School is one of 64 nonprofits that received grants this year from the Wells Fargo program, which is administered by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.  The program awards more than $3 million annually to support community-based initiatives on land and water conservation, energy efficiency, green infrastructure and environmental educational outreach.
