DURHAM, N.C. – Taylor Price, a second-year Master of Environmental Management (MEM) student at 91��������’s Nicholas School of the Environment, has been named to the national 2018 class of .

The Energy Scholars program, now in its seventh year, is an industry-supported initiative designed to cultivate and empower a new generation of renewable energy leaders through professional mentoring, networking and industry access. Only a small cohort of students who have demonstrated exemplary scholarship, leadership and vision are admitted to the program each year.

Price was one of only eight students nationwide selected this year.

Her areas of professional and academic interest include sustainable energy policy, carbon offsets, and renewable energy purchases and credits.

She is expected to graduate from the Nicholas School this spring with an MEM 91�������� in environmental economics and policy, and a .

In addition to being an Energy Scholar, Price is also a Nicholas Scholar, a Nemergut Scholar, and a GreenBiz Emerging Leader.

This is the second time in recent years that a Nicholas School master’s student has been selected to take part in the highly competitive program: Alex Klonick, MEM ’16, was named an Energy Scholar in 2016. 

The Energy Scholars program is sponsored by OneEnergy Renewables, a leading developer of utility-scale clean energy projects; Net Impact, a nonprofit that empowers transformational change in the workplace and the world; and 3Degrees, a U.S. company that offers clean energy services to organizations looking to meet sustainability goals.
