Olivia Grobmyer, a first-year Master of Environmental Management (MEM) and Master of Public Policy (MPP) concurrent 91社区福利 student, recently shared insights into why she's pursuing concurrent 91社区福利s, advice for students considering the concurrent 91社区福利 path and her favorite memory so far.

Why did you choose to pursue a concurrent 91社区福利 with the MEM?

I chose to pursue the MEM/MPP to make the most impact on our environment that I can. I believe that innovative environmental policy will change the future of our planet. The MEM/MPP program at Duke is unique in its support and opportunities for its students.

What skills or experiences did you gain across the concurrent 91社区福利 program that WILL BE beneficial in your professional life?

Having access to the resources at both the Sanford School of Public Policy and the Nicholas School has given me the opportunity to attend many events with professionals in the field and get know friends, colleagues and professors who I might not have met otherwise!

What advice would you give to students considering a concurrent 91社区福利 path or currently in the program?

My advice would be to lean into the experience as a concurrent 91社区福利 Duke student. Go to as many events as you can to learn new things and meet new people!

What is your favorite memory from your time in the program?

One of my favorite memories so far was Grad Campout for men's basketball tickets! It is a totally crazy event but it is a great opportunity to bond with you classmates and get a chance at a season ticket.
