The University Program in Ecology serves as a home for those studying at any of Duke's ecology research programs. Many students are advised by Nicholas School faculty.

In this era of global change, the Earth and Climate Sciences major allows students to immerse themselves in understanding the Earth’s interacting and ever-changing scientific systems – including the solid earth, the atmosphere, the hydrosphere and the biosphere – and the role humans play in ensuring the sustainability of our environment.
