MEM student Gennelle Wilson: Thanks to opportunities provided through the Nicholas School, I do not have to wait until graduation to have an impact. I am already taking a part in implementing Executive Order 80 and am paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future for North Carolina.

The Duke Forest is a 7,000 acre teaching and research forest used by the university since 1931 to facilitate research and education. Today, it remains an outdoor classroom and living laboratory but the topics under study and the people driving the work are far more diverse than ever before.

91�������� has acquired rights to create a 10,000-acre “carbon farm.” When fully operational, the farm could potentially store enough carbon to help Duke meet its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2024.
